Who I am in Christ

I am Accepted...

I am God's Child.
John 1:12
But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.

I am Christ's Friend.
John 15:15
I no longer call you servants, because a master doesn't confide in his servants. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me.

I have been justified.
Romans 5:1
Therefore, since we have been made right in God's sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.

I am united with the Lord (one spirit).
1 Corinthians 6:17
But the person who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him.

I am bought with a price; I belong to God.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
[19] Or don't you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, [20] for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.

I am a member of Christ's body.
1 Corinthians 12:27
Now all of you together are Christ's body, and each one of you is a separate and necessary part of it.

I am a saint.
Ephesians 1:1
This letter is from Paul, chosen by God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus. It is written to God's holy people in Ephesus, who are faithful followers of Christ Jesus.

I have been adopted as God's child.
Ephesians 1:5
His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. And this gave him great pleasure.

I have access to God through the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 2:18
Now all of us, both Jews and Gentiles, may come to the Father through the same Holy Spirit because of what Christ has done for us.

I have been redeemed and forgiven.
Colossians 1:14
God has purchased our freedom with his blood and has forgiven all our sins.

I am complete in Christ.
Colossians 2:9-10
[9] For in Christ the fullness of God lives in a human body, [10] and you are complete through your union with Christ. He is the Lord over every ruler and authority in the universe.

I am Secure...

I am free forever from condemnation.
Romans 8:1-2
[1] So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. [2] For the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you through Christ Jesus from the power of sin that leads to death.

I am assured that everything works together for good.
Romans 8:28
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

I am free from any charge against me.
Romans 8:31-34
[31] What can we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? [32] Since God did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won't God, who gave us Christ, also give us everything else? [33] Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? Will God? No! He is the one who has given us right standing with himself. [34] Who then will condemn us? Will Christ Jesus? No, for he is the one who died for us and was raised to life for us and is sitting at the place of highest honor next to God, pleading for us.

I cannot be separated from the love of God.
Romans 8:35-39
[35] Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or are hungry or cold or in danger or threatened with death? [36] (Even the Scriptures say, "For our sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep."[Ps 44:22.] ) [37] No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. [38] And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death can't, and life can't. The angels can't, and the demons can't. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell can't keep God's love away. [39] Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I am established, anointed, sealed by God.
2 Corinthians 1:21-22
[21] It is God who gives us, along with you, the ability to stand firm for Christ. He has commissioned us, [22] and he has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment of everything he will give us.

I am hidden with Christ in God.
Colossians 3:3
For you died when Christ died, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.

I am confident that the good work that God has begun in me will be completed.
Philippians 1:6
And I am sure that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on that day when Christ Jesus comes back again.

I am a citizen of Heaven.
Philippians 3:20
But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior.

I have not been given a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

I can find peace and mercy in time of need.
Hebrews 4:16
So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it.

I am born of God; the evil one cannot harm me.
1 John 5:18
We know that those who have become part of God's family do not make a practice of sinning, for God's Son holds them securely, and the evil one cannot get his hands on them.

I am Significant...

I am the salt and light of the earth.
Matthew 5:13-14
[13] "You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it useful again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. [14] You are the light of the world--like a city on a mountain, glowing in the night for all to see.

I am a branch of the true vine; a channel of his life.
John 15:1,5
[1] "I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. [5] "Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.

I have been chosen and appointed to bear fruit.
John 15:16
You didn't choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.

I am a personal witness of Christ.
Acts 1:8
But when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will receive power and will tell people about me everywhere--in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

I am God's temple.
1 Corinthians 3:16
Don't you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in[1] you?

I am a minister of reconciliation for God.
2 Corinthians 5:17-21
[17] What this means is that those who become Christians become new persons. They are not the same anymore, for the old life is gone. A new life has begun! [18] All this newness of life is from God, who brought us back to himself through what Christ did. And God has given us the task of reconciling people to him. [19] For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. This is the wonderful message he has given us to tell others. [20] We are Christ's ambassadors, and God is using us to speak to you. We urge you, as though Christ himself were here pleading with you, "Be reconciled to God!" [21] For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

I am God's coworker.
2 Corinthians 6:1
As God's partners, we beg you not to reject this marvelous message of God's great kindness.
  1 Corinthians 3:9
We work together as partners who belong to God. You are God's field, God's building--not ours.

I am seated with Christ in the heavenly realm.
Ephesians 2:6
For he raised us from the dead along with Christ, and we are seated with him in the heavenly realms--all because we are one with Christ Jesus.

I am God's workmanship.
Ephesians 2:10
For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

I may approach God with freedom and confidence.
Ephesians 3:12
Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come fearlessly into God's presence, assured of his glad welcome.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:13
For I can do everything with the help of Christ who gives me the strength I need.
